Kayaking in Cat Ba

This morning we had an early start as we went on a kayak tour with Asia Outdoors. It was a pleasant day and a great chance to meet other travelers.

In the morning our guide Raul from Manchester (who was being taught by Josh from Bermuda), took us around some lagoons and picturesque bays. It felt like something out of Jurassic Park!

After some diving off the ship at lunch the afternoon was spent around the floating villages, which are pretty unique.

This evening has been good fun, with the town going a bit wild as Vietnam progressed to the final of the U23 Asia cup football on penalties! The final is on the 27th, which should be a bit of a party!

We then had a hot pot for dinner, which was a bit of a treat for our last night in Cat Ba. You are presented with a broth in which to cook your meat and some noodles, very tasty!

Tomorrow we are planning some climbing on the island before heading back to Hanoi.
