Today after a slow start we made it to the Batu Caves on the outskirts of town right in time for some midday sun!

- The view from the top.
We managed not to melt and we were welcomed by a huge cave at the top of the 200ish steps. We briefly explored the Hindu temple at the top before heading to 'the dark caves' where we embarked on a tour.
It was very well organised and our guide talked is through the geology and ecology of the massive cave system. There are 200,000 bats in the caves and there is an amazing food chain which starts with their droppings!

- An opening at the end of the dark cave system.
The caves reached absolute pitch darkness and we were able to stand in silence and listen to the sounds of the cave, which mainly consisted of fruit bats chattering away above our heads.

- The Chinese market close to our hostel.
Kuala Lumpur has been a good place to get settled into SE Asia and try to get over the jet lag, not quite there yet! I am however looking forward to the cooler temperatures in the North of Vietnam and the quiet of Ha Long Bay on Sunday.
Tomorrow we leave Kuala Lumpur and our suitcases, so we can truly feel like backpackers! Off to Hanoi in the North of Vietnam to start our two weeks there. Really looking forward to it.
